Review:

This is SOO not a movie to watch right after Raiders of the Lost Ark. The Mummy is incredibly desperate to be Indiana Jones meets the 1930s Mummy, but it fails miserably. What this movie turns out to be is a mishmash of bad humor and decen special effects that results in a very uneven viewing experience. The first hour is a snoozefest of a buildup to the eventual reveal of the CGI resurrected Imhotep. After that, it dissolves into incoherent action scenes. When it tries to give you some form of plot, it only muddles things. The movie IS fun at times, but it is insanely mind-numbing. You feel like you've lost brain cells in the process of viewing the movie. So if you're into killing your brain cells, be my guest and see this. Otherwise, skip it; it's not worth it.
